This is me and my sweet Buffett back in February 2010. Poor girl wasn’t feeling well at all as she just had surgery to repair a ruptured ACL. Because she couldn’t put weight on her leg, four times a day my husband and I carried her outside so she could go to the bathroom.
One night, as we were getting ready to take her out that last time before bed, I looked out the window at the pouring down rain and I thought to myself…
“Love is carrying your dog out in the rain so she can go to the bathroom.”

Oh, these beasties, they come into our lives, give us unconditional love, and than nestle right into our hearts for ever more.
And shall it always be no other way!!!

Awww… so cute!!
Thank you Hema. Buffett was truly one of my life’s loves.
As someone who often prefers animals to people, I can completely understand what you said in your Farewell. Some beings are meant to know one another.
Love your photos.
“The more I’m around people, the more I love my dog.” That’s the little plaque I got Neal. Sums it up nicely, don’t you think! Thanks for reading Farewell, she was such a good girl, and I love her dearly and yes, some beings are indeed meant to be together.
Ah yes, I’ve heard that one said before. Yes, it definitely sums things up for me

That’s the unconditional love between man and dog. Nothing can come between us, including pouring rain.
Absolutely. A little rain can’t stop the flood of love!
Lovely photo. I grew up around dogs and adore their companinship and loyalty. My mom nursed our ill weimarainer for months by cooking her meals and building a dog ramp so she could sleep on the bed with my parents. I haven’t thought of that for ages. Thank you for unlocking that door in my memory.
You are welcome Lori. And you have a wonderful mom, but that doesn’t surprise me. She has a wonderful daughter!

Beautiful photo! I feel the exact same way about my dog–what’s a little cold and rain when the warmth of their love is so strong and lasting.
Absolutely! And you expressed how I felt so well.

All these comments made me cry.
Oh, I hope they were good tears. The kind of tears shed because you know such sweet love!
Yes they were sweet tears.

you summed love up just perfectly
Why thank you! Buffett made love easy.
I love this photo and the sentiments expressed.
Thank you. I have been fortunate to have so much love in my life, and Buffett’s was abundant and everlasting.
awww, what a perfect post, and sentiment – and wow, you look like a young girl – that expression – so full of love and innocence.
Thanks! You know how with some beings the love that is deep inside you gets pulled right up to the surface, Buffett was like that for me. I just had to laugh too when you mentioned me looking like a young girl, in addition to the expression, I thought about how my photo editing program let me remove the crow’s feet around my eyes! That helps too!!!
wow – true confessions! I know what you mean – the first part – OK, and the editing part too!
Honesty begets more honesty!
It is love indeed.
And the most wonderful, unconditional form of love.
